PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - Two people were shot and one killed in a shooting Monday afternoon in southeast Portland, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

At about 2 p.m. officers were called to reports of a shooting near the intersection of Southeast 84th Avenue and Southeast Powell Boulevard. Officers arrived and found two people with gunshot wounds.

One man was declared dead at the scene. The other victim was taken to a local hospital and she is expected to survive.

It has not been confirmed which person was shot where, but one person was shot in the foot and the other in the head.

Portland police said on Friday and Saturday nights, they made six total arrests and towed 14 cars after a series of weekend street takeovers.

There were also bullet holes in a white sedan on Southeast 84th Avenue.

“A bunch of people, they’re dying,” said Able Garcia, who lives nearby.

Police are currently investigating the shooting as a murder.

Southeast Powell Boulevard is closed between Southeast 82nd Avenue and Southeast 92nd Avenue while investigators collect evidence and process the scene.

“This neighborhood used to be awesome. It’s just getting more bad and more serious. Maybe one day it will be safe,” said Nick Marchase, who lives nearby.
