The Danville Town Council is poised to recognize April as National Volunteer Appreciation Month in a resolution at its regular meeting Tuesday.

While the month-long observance is a national one recognized by municipalities across the country, the resolution on the table for the Danville Council is particularly aimed at recognizing local volunteers, pointing to a total of 3,279 hours of volunteer time from 532 town volunteers in 2023.

The council is set to present a proclamation recognizing the observance to Administrative Assistant Amy Schell and Program Supervisor Leah Martinez.

Councilmembers will hold their regular meeting with a light agenda at 5 p.m. on Tuesday (April 16). The agenda is available here.
