Hammond man accused in rape of child, authorities say

HAMMOND, La. (WAFB) - A Hammond man is accused of multiple sex crimes against children, including the rape of someone under the age of 13, according to Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill.

The AG’s office said the man, William Blake Porter, 33, is charged with first-degree rape of someone under the age of 13 and pornography involving juveniles.

Porter was taken into custody on Thursday, April 4, according to authorities. They added that he was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office.

The arrest was the result of a joint investigation between Murrill’s office, The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, and homeland security investigators.
