A New Mexico man is in custody on a murder charge after he allegedly shot and killed a woman inside a vehicle. The fatal shooting happened Wednesday afternoon, April 3.
A woman was brought to a hospital with a gunshot wound to the head. A Rio Rancho police investigation found the fatal shooting resulted from a domestic argument during the drive.

The woman, identified as Desirae Lussow, of Ribera, died at Sandoval Regional Medical Center. She was taken to the hospital in the same vehicle where the shooting happened, prompting a lockdown at the emergency room.
Lussow was traveling with her three children and Pablo Padilla, the man arrested for the murder.
The police investigation also found an AR-15 rifle was used by Padilla after it was grabbed near the driver seat. It is unknown how long the medical center was on lockdown.

Padilla is booked into the Sandoval County Detention Center. Along with the murder charge, Padilla also faces charges of reckless driving and possession of a controlled substance.
