The 24-year-old man found unresponsive at the scene of an April 13 shooting in Worcester, and who later died, is being remembered by his family as a dedicated student and churchgoer.

According to the family’s GoFundMe — set up “for assistance in arranging his funeral,” the family wrote — Bob Nuah was an aspiring dental student set to graduate as a dental assistant this May. He was an active member of his church and a staff member at the Environmental Council.

In the fall, Nuah was hoping to attend Quinsigamond Community College to continue his studies in dentistry, according to the GoFundMe page.

According to NBC 10, residents of a nearby neighborhood heard the shots that rang out around 2 a.m. on April 13.

“I started praying,” Francia Rivera, a neighbor who said he watched Nuah grow up, told the news station. “When I saw my window, outside my living room, I saw all the cops here and ambulance and firemen and everything.”

He was shot “steps away” from his home, family members told NBC 10.

Worcester PD are working closely with the District Attorney’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to determine what happened. They ask that anyone with information about the shooting reach out via anonymous text to 274637 or a message on worcesterma.gov/police, or to call the Worcester Police Detective Bureau at 508-799-8651.
