Circle of Fortune
From a lore perspective, the Circle of Fortune is filled with seers and mages gazing into the stars of the great beyond in an effort to uncover mysteries and untold treasures. From a more grounded perspective, however, it’s one of the key factions in Last Epoch that players can join to farm endgame loot, including Uniques, using faction mechanics specific to the Circle of Fortune.
Where to Find the Circle of Fortune
You can find the Circle of Fortune in Maj’elka during the Divine Era in the northern portion of the city. There, you’ll discover Galila, who acts as a vendor and your introduction to the group. As you move deeper into the headquarters, you’ll meet Sandrak, a Sapphire Nagasa, who leads the Circle of Fortune. Sandrak will teach you about Prophecies, the core mechanic of the Circle of Fortune, which offers loot for completing the various challenges.
How to Join the Circle of Fortune
To join the Circle of Fortune, first speak with Zerrick in Maj’elka Upper District. He’ll provide you with a side quest, “Merchants and Fortune Tellers,” and point you toward the Maj’elka Observatory to speak with the Circle of Fortune.
Once there, talk to the first NPC at the entrance, Galila, who will explain the order, what they do, and how they can help you. If you wish to join the Circle of Fortune, finish her dialogue and select the option to join.
Circle of Fortune’s Faction Mechanics
The Circle of Fortune proves ideal for solo and casual group players who want to complete bounties, craft, and earn loot through targeted gameplay challenges instead of buying items with gold.
- Favor: You’ll obtain Favor with the Circle of Fortune by slaying monsters, completing quests, and tackling challenges set forth by the telescopes in the Observatory. You may then use Favor to purchase Prophecies and Lenses.
- Ranks: As you acquire Favor and purchase Reputation, you’ll unlock additional Ranks in the Circle of Fortune, moving up through the organization. Each rank provides unique boons, including bonus loot drops, better item affixes, and crafting enhancements.
- Reputation: Reputation is necessary to move through the ranks of the Circle of Fortune. You can purchase Reputation by spending Favor.
- Prophecies: As you earn Favor, you may buy Prophecies, which, when conditions are satisfied, will unlock loot. Every Prophecy requires different objectives, including slaying certain monsters in specific zones.
- Lenses: Lenses are unique crafting items only available to Circle of Fortune members and, once acquired, can be installed in the telescopes in the Observatory. A Lense will illuminate a Prophecy, allowing you to focus on its challenges to unlock rewards. In layperson’s terms, Lenses provide a more targeted farming approach to the challenges the faction offers. There are different types of Lenses:
- Obscuring Lenses remove a particular zone or type of content from the pool, including Campaign, Arena, Dungeon, and Monolith.
- Refracting Lenses provide additional rewards but cost more Favor.
- Enhancing Lenses ensures a specific type of Prophecy appears with certain item rarities.
