Tortuga Music Festival kicks off in Fort Lauderdale

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Fort Lauderdale Beach is being taken over by an epic cowboy hat and boot invasion all in anticipation of the wildest country music party in town — the Tortuga Music Festival!

Local fans like Alina are feeling the excitement, describing the Tortuga Music Festival as the “ultimate feel-good vibe.”

“Tortuga is just such a good vibe,” she said. “Everybody is so friendly and there’s people here from all over the world.”

In 2023, the festival asked its attendees to evacuate due to severe weather on Fort Lauderdale Beach, but sunny skies are expected this weekend while the event takes place.

Chris Stacey, CEO of the Rock the Ocean foundation, recounted the 2023 first-of-its-kind storm with Local 10 News.

“If you recall, one year ago today was the 1000-year monsoon and it caused havoc on all of us,” he said.

Stacey promises a boot-stompin’ good time this weekend with the most star-studded lineup yet. Fans will get ready to holler for Laney Wilson, the hottest name in country music, and Hardy, who’s a personal favorite of Stacey.

And hold onto your ten-gallon hats, folks, because the 2024 Tortuga lineup is mixin’ it up!

Alongside your favorite country crooners, Boyz II Men and TLC will be hitting the stage.

Over the years, the festival has raised over $4 million for dozens of organizations dedicated to marine and ocean research and conservation organizations.

Over 100,000 people are expected to attend the festival throughout the weekend.
