Quaker Meadows Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution recently highlighted two members who are military veterans. The April program, “What is it Like for Women in the Military,” was presented by Cace Siddons, formerly U.S. Army; and Nina Ramseur Rexrode, formerly U.S. Air Force. Sgt. Siddons served during peacetime in Washington, D.C. as a programmer analyst, and Lt. Col. Rexrode served in peacetime Germany and later as a flight nurse during the Noriega conflict in Panama where she experienced combat nursing. One of DAR’s goals is to support veterans and active military personnel. Members are descended from ancestors who fought for and/or helped the cause of American independence in the Revolutionary War. Anyone interested in more information may call Pat Wells at 919 698-8098.
