Suspect sought in string of robberies at Augusta businesses

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a suspect accused of a string of armed robberies over the past two weeks in Augusta, according to authorities.

Authorities say the suspect Dmond Jackson, 30, is wanted for several armed robberies that have occurred along Kissingbower Road, Deans Bridge Road, and Gordon Highway between March 24 and April 10.

Authorities say Jackson is accused of robbing TJ Mart located on the 1900 block of Kissingbower Road on running off on March 24, 25, 28 and April 10. Each time running of on foot toward Haynie Drive.

Jackson is also accused of robbing the BP station located at 2161 Gordon Highway on March 31 and the Dollar General located at 2549 Deans Bridge Road on April 8, according to authorities.

In each incident, the suspect entered the establishment pulled out a gun, jumped over the counter and demanded money from the victims, according to authorities.

After receiving the money the suspect would take the money, the victim’s phone and the gun and put it in a red pouch, authorities say.

Then after each robbery, the suspect would run off on foot, according to authorities.

Authorities say at least $2,000 has been stolen in these robberies.

Jackson is known to frequent the areas of Murphy Road and Douglas Street, authorities say.

He is considered armed and dangerous; use caution, authorities say.
