Verizon settlement update: The deadline for $100M settlement is here.

You’re almost out of time to sign up for the $100 million settlement over undisclosed fees charged to some Verizon customers.

Consumers have until April 15 to file their claim at verizonadministrativechargesettlement.com.

If you’re eligible, you could get between $15 and $100.

Verizon agreed to the payments to settle claims that it charged “deceptive and unfair” administrative fees that were not properly disclosed to some 58 million wireless customers.

Most affected customers should have received a notification by email or mailed postcard in January. The notifications include a “Notice ID” and “Confirmation Code,” which can be used to sign up for the settlement.

If you didn’t get one, you can sign up on the settlement website by entering your name and Verizon account number on the website.

Eligible consumers include current and former Verizon customers who had wireless or data services between Jan. 1, 2016, and Nov. 8, 2023. They are eligible for up to $100, but not less than $15, the settlement said.

The fees ranged from 40 cents a month per line to $3.30 a month per line, with the costs increasing over time, according to the lawsuit, which was first filed in Middlesex County Superior Court.

Verizon previously said it “clearly identifies and describes its wireless consumer Admin Charge multiple times during the sales transaction, as well as in its marketing, contracts and billing.”
