A homeless man has been arrested for hurling rocks at a Midtown NYPD stationhouse, punching holes through the glass front doors, cops said Saturday.
Nickoy Watson, 26, was picked up near the Midtown South stationhouse at around 9:30 a.m. and charged with criminal mischief and reckless endangerment, cops said.
His arraignment in Manhattan Criminal Court was pending Saturday.
Watson was caught on surveillance camera chucking stones from the middle of E. 35th St. near Eighth Ave. toward the Midtown South Precinct stationhouse about 7:40 a.m. Thursday.
At least five of the six rocks he threw blew holes through the glass doors, which were left spiderwebbed.
Standing in front of two parked NYPD SUVs, Watson kept fishing rocks out of the pockets of his dark-colored coat before he threw them like a baseball pitcher at the front glass doors.
It was not immediately clear why he decided to throw the rocks at the station house, or why he targeted this particular cop shop.
Watson ran off down E. 35th St. after the stoning, police said. Cops from the stationhouse and on patrol went out looking for him but he had vanished.
The NYPD had the damaged glass doors replaced within a few hours, officials said.
