Homeward Bound Animal Clinic

ROCHESTER, Minn.- Pet owners have another option for animal care here in the Med City. The vet shortage is a continuing issue and Homeward Bound Animal Clinic is working to tackle this concern.

The clinic had its grand opening on April 12 where they invited pet owners to come in and check it out. Homeward Bound's main goal is to create a fear- free practice. Meaning- they strive for transparency for all patients and they even have a window to let owners see what the vets are doing.

The clinic is offering care for dogs, cats, and exotic pets including reptiles, amphibians, and birds. The need for vet care and the shortage of workers is a growing concern here in Rochester.

Owner and vet Dr. Natalie Lucca says, “we don't have enough doctors to provide care so at Homeward Bound Animal Clinic we are really empowering our certified vet techs to utilize the skills that they have learned in school to become more of the process. So, our certified vet techs here take on our preventive care while the doctor focuses on ill patients.”

She tells us why this clinic is such a need here for pet owners in the Med City.

Dr. Lucca says, “There is a need for veteranarians in general, and so having a new clinic in Rochester is just an opportunity for pet owners to be able to get in to a new clinic or a different clinic if needed. A different model that offers different services and some of the same services they are used to.”

The clinic is offically open and its hours are Monday- Friday, 8:00 am until 5:00 pm.
