ATLANTA — A death investigation is underway in Atlanta after officers found a man with multiple gunshot wounds overnight.
According to the Atlanta Police Department, officers responded shortly before 2 a.m. on Sunday to a person shot at the 740 block of Joseph E. Boone Blvd. NW. When they arrived, officers found a man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was sent to the hospital, where he later died, police said.
Atlanta Police said that preliminary information reveals that there was a dispute involving a separated couple. The man allegedly joined the altercation, and gunfire erupted between the individuals -- resulting in the man being shot.
Homicide detectives are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and this is an ongoing investigation, police said.
