Blur singer Damon Albarn unleashed on an apathetic Coachella crowd vowing to never return after concert-goers refused to sing along during their set.

Clips circulated on social media showing Damon growing frustrated with festival-goers during their 13-song set on the first weekend Coachella. During the band's performance, the Britpop group gave their all as they passionately belted their hit '90s classics like Girls & Boys, Popscene and Song 2.

Throughout the show Damon made multiple efforts to engage with fans and get them sing along to the chorus of their chart-topping songs, but was met with deafening silence. After many attempts to bring the lacklustre American crowd to life, the 56-year-old artist grew visibly frustrated and fired off: "You’re never seeing us again, so you might as well f*****g sing it."

Die-hard Blur fans were outraged by the crowd's response to the famous band's performance taking to the TikTok comments of the now-viral footage. One fan wrote: "They have THE Blur playing song two... and that's the crowds reaction... in the uk there would be beers flying." Another added: "The UK would go absolutely feral over this. The crowd is very disappointing."

Another joked: "And the crowd goes mild," while someone else replied: "Does this crowd know who's standing in front of them?"

This performance marks the first time that Blur has performed onstage at Coachella since 2013 when they played all of their greatest hits for a much more enthusiastic audience. Damon also took the stage without Blue back in 2010 at the festival with his band Gorillaz. During the lengthy set, Damon sang Gorillaz’s three-album discography and premiered almost every song on their album Plastic Beach.
