Scott steps down as Memorial football coach; returns to Superior

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - Rob Scott, who has been the head football coach at Eau Claire Memorial since 2021, has stepped down to take the same position at Superior.

Scott was named the coach at Memorial in May of 2021, had a 7-20 record leading the Old Abes, going 2-7 this past season.

Scott previously coached at Superior High School, serving as the associate head coach and defensive coordinator. Scott also ran the youth football program for Superior for 12 years.

A Wausau native, Scott is a graduate of UW-Superior and Mesabi Range Community College in Minnesota, earning both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from UW-Superior.

The Eau Claire Area School District released the following statement:

“Memorial High School head football coach Rob Scott announced to his players today that he has accepted the head football coach position at Superior High School beginning August 2024.

We have been fortunate to have Coach Scott with our program since 2021 and we wish him all the best moving forward.”
