CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) -Neighbors near E 146th and Elmhurst are concerned about a “leaning” utility pole.

Electrical wires are intertwined with tree branches. Neighbors say it is a recipe for disaster if there was a severe thunderstorm.

“It makes you wonder when it is going to fall,” said Tasha Moore. “Have they not thought about who lives are at stake if something happens.”

Moore has family in the area. She visits family every week. Moore says the pole has been titled for quite some time now

“It just upsets me,” said Moore.

19 News wanted to know how vertical an average utility pole is in this neighborhood. We used an iPhone app to measure it. It measures as zero degrees. We measured the utility pole in question. It came out to negative 10 degrees.

“No one has inspected because if they have I wouldn’t be talking to the news,” said Moore.

The 19 News Troubleshooter team called Cleveland Public Power. We wanted to know if they were aware the wires are in full contact with nearby branches, when was the last time this pole was inspected and what is the game plan to fix it.

We were told the pole was not an imminent danger and a crew will be out to take care of it by the end of the week. This will include cutting tree branches.

19 News will follow up to make sure CPP keeps its word.
