MARBLE FALLS, Texas (KXAN) – Brianna Martinez said she was at her kid’s soccer game Tuesday night when severe weather rolled in.

Her family packed up and went home. They settled in the living room for only a few minutes before hearing some concerning noises.

“All of a sudden, we heard the rain and then started hearing glass shatter. And we were like ‘Oh no,’” Martinez said.

The hail, which Martinez recalled being the size of baseballs, crashed through windows in her house and cars. She said four of the windows in her home shattered.

Everyone was unharmed.

“We’ll just have to wait on insurance and see how soon they can get it fixed, but I’m sure they’ll be busy,” she added.

Driving around Marble Falls on Tuesday afternoon, one would see many vehicles in similar states to Martinez’s cars.

Randall Niemtschk, who owns Tex-R-Auto Glass, said his business’ phone has not stopped ringing all of Wednesday.

“A normal business day is not this busy. We are swamped. I got a guy sitting in the van right now taking calls left and right,” he said.

Niemtschk said he’s seen many cars with shattered rear windows and windshields. Also, countless small indentations across vehicles’ hoods, roofs and trunks from the hail battering down.

Naturally, the storm has been good for business. Still, Niemtschk said he feels bad for the many without comprehensive car insurance plans to help pay for the repairs.

“They have to pay out of pocket so we try and cut them a good deal,” he said.
