Update: Traffic has returned to normal flow on the Goethals Bridge to Staten Island around 10 a.m. after congestion from the Staten Island Expressway caused delays on the span.
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Goethals Bridge, Staten Island bound, has delays due to congestion on the Staten Island Expressway during the Tuesday morning rush hour.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey issued the alert for the borough-bound lanes around 9 a.m.
The backup extends to at least Richmond Avenue on the expressway, Brooklyn bound, according to Google Maps.
