BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — Raleigh County Commission plans to have a ribbon cutting for the Clear Fork Trail in May, officials said at the regular meeting on Tuesday, April 16, 2024.

The Clear Fork Trail will stretch for 15 miles and have a variety of recreational uses.

The trail offers views of the mountains, water, and forest here in West Virginia. Commissioners approved two grants for the trail development during the regular Tuesday meeting, and they said construction is set within two weeks.

“We’re a couple months out of that, probably do some ribbon cutting soon, and it just brings the whole dynamic to that end of the county,” said Raleigh County Commissioner Greg Duckworth. “That’s going to help the area, and we’re real excited to see that project come to fruition.”

County officials said last minute details are being added to the trail later this week.
