King stuns Erskine, advances to C/C semis
Warren Davis delivered 23 kills and digs to lead King to a 22-25, 25-21, 27-25, 27-25 Conference Carolinas tournament quarterfinals victory at Erskine on Tuesday night.
King (7-20) will visit No. 2 seed North Greenville on Thursday. The Tornado defeated the Crusaders to capture the Conference Carolinas last season in the championship match, qualifying for the NCAA Tournament where they traveled to Ohio State.
AJ Drooker had 14 kills and Kellan Kennedy had 10 kills, while Aiden Olson dished out 48 assists. Justin Sawyer contributed nine digs and Chinen Gannon had seven digs in the win.

King splits with Converse

Tinsley Thompson and Alyssa Suits each homered to lift King to an 11-2 Conference Carolinas victory in the second game of a doubleheader at Converse.
Suits also tripled and drove in four runs. Lilly Million had three hits, including a double and triple, and Tennessee High graduate Tori Ryan doubled, scored twice and walked twice. West Ridge grad Bradlie Warner had three hits and drove in three runs for the Tornado (23-21, 10-8).
Ridgeview graduate Nikole Counts got the win in the circle, allowing five hits and striking out seven in a five inning complete game effort.
Thompson hit a three-run home run in the 5-4 opening game loss at Converse. John Battle graduate Hayley Dye and Aviah Bunsic each had doubles for the Tornado, while Union graduate Marleigh Duncan took the loss in the circle.
King will visit Lees-McRae on Thursday.
BASEBALL
Wasps fall to Pioneers
Garrison Bullock and Triston Hensley homered in Emory & Henry's 10-7 home loss to Tusculum as the two clubs celebrated Jackie Robinson Day, a day later than the major leagues on Monday.
Bullock drove in three runs, while Khadeem Lewis and Hensley had two RBIs apiece. Jared Foley had two hits, while Nickolas Kalafut took the loss on the mound.
Emory & Henry (8-34) will host Mars Hill on Friday.
Mountain Lions batter Cavaliers
Twin Springs graduate Justin Reed had two hits and two RBIs in the University of Virginia's College at Wise's 13-5 non-conference home loss to Concord.
DJ Dickson had two hits for UVa-Wise, which was out-hit 16-8, with Concord slamming five home runs and five doubles in the win.
UVa-Wise (12-31) will host Limestone on Friday.
Senators veto Flying Eagles
Cason McInnis and Nicko Kostopoulous each doubled in Southwest Virginia Community College's 24-5 loss to Walters State Community College in a game played in Johnson City.
Jacob Pealer scored two runs and Kostopoulous drove in two for the Flying Eagles (1-39, 1-24).
McInnis took the loss for SWCC, which will visit Louisburg College on Friday.
Walters State (37-10, 18-3) had 21 hits, including four home runs, six doubles and a triple.
