PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - With the warm front close to us, we are seeing the chance for storms returning this evening. There is a marginal (1/5) risk for severe weather this evening with the only threat expected being damaging winds. Once the sun sets we will see the storms start to fizzle out though clouds will start to build in as a low pressure system moves closer. The clouds will keep us on the warmer side tonight with temperatures only falling into the low to mid 60s which is about 20 degrees above average for our night time temperatures. On Wednesday we will see the warm front pass over us in the morning giving us the chance for showers. In the evening a cold front will move through bringing back the chance for storms. We are currently under a marginal (1/5) risk for severe weather with a slight (2/5) risk just off to our north for severe weather. Similar to the past few chances for storms, if we see more clearing in the afternoon then we will likely see the strong to severe storms bubble up. As of Tuesday evening, the main threats will be large hail, damaging winds, and minor localized flooding as the main threats, though an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.

On Thursday, we will see drier weather though it will still be on the warmer side as temperatures are expected to reach the mid to upper 70s. As we move into Friday we will see the chance for rain and some storms to return as a second cold front works its way through. Currently there is no risk for severe weather associated with this cold front moving through but we will continue to monitor for any risk as well as adjustments on the upcoming storms that we will see. Temperatures behind the front are expected to be in the low to mid 60s which will be slightly below to around average for this time of year.
