COHOES, N.Y. (NEWS10)– A Cohoes man was arrested for allegedly robbing two people at gunpoint on Monday. Bryce Carpenter, 21, was arrested and charged by Cohoes Police Department after two people reported being robbed of their cell phones at 2:36 a.m. on Manor Avenue, police said.

Charges

  • Two counts of second-degree robbery
  • Two counts of second-degree criminal use of a firearm
  • One count of fourth-degree grand larceny
  • Two counts of second-degree menacing with a weapon
  • Petit larceny

The victims told police they agreed to meet Carpenter in a parking lot off of Manor Avenue and he displayed what looked like a firearm while they spoke. Police said after stealing the cell phones, Carpenter fled the area but was quickly identified by one of the victims as they knew him.

The cell phones were able to be recovered by police. Police said they executed a search warrant at a Manor Avenue home that led to the discovery of the BB gun used in the incident. Carpenter was arraigned in Cohoes City Court and remanded to Albany County Jail.
