U.S. Marshals arrest Murder suspect in raid at Auburn motel

AUBURN, Ala. (WRBL) – In a pre-dawn operation Tuesday morning, April 16, the U.S. Marshals Task Force apprehended murder suspect Jimothy Ford, 39, at an extended stay off Commerce Street in Auburn. The warrant for Ford’s arrest stemmed from a failure to appear (FTA) charge out of Autauga County.

Ford also stands accused in connection with the shooting death of 26-year-old Christopher Thomas, whose body was discovered on August 6, 2022 in the 2600 block of Zelda Road. Montgomery police had charged Ford with murder, setting his bail at $1.5 million. A second suspect was also charged in the case.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the operation, and authorities confirmed Ford’s arrest without incident.
