Raut is a contractor to break political parties: MLA Shirsat
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Shiv Sena MLA from Aurangabad West Sanjay Shirsat on Tuesday came down heavily on senior members of the former undivided party and said that UBT spokesperson Sanjay Raut was not a journalist, but a contractor to break political parties.
This was not the first time that Shirsat had blamed Raut, the editorial head of Saamna, for being one of the people behind the rift between party members and division of Sena.
However, his statement on Tuesday during a media interaction in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar was more direct, said observers.
Shirsat was among the politicians most vocal against Uddhav Thackeray, Raut as well as their supporters.
“Sanjay Raut is not a journalist, he is a big contractor who destroys political party. Who is Raut to throw a challenge that he will interview PM Narendra Modi? He is not fit for the task. Raut is a leader only when it comes to lying. In fact, he is the leading liar of politics. Raut destroyed Uddhav Thackeray’s camp. He is intellectually corrupt and cannot oppose MP Dr Srikanth Shinde, who is a masters in science,” said Shirsat
Speaking about the delay in announcement of the party candidate for Aurangabad Lok Sabha seat, Shirsat said he was hopeful it would happen on the occasion of Ram Navami on Wednesday. Shirsat had claimed on multiple occasions that a candidate would be declared in a day or two, but it did not happen.
He said the NDA alliance was likely to win over 45 seats in the state with MNS chief Raj Thackeray announcing unconditional support in the general elections.
Shirsat said that starting April 22, the state would witness an unprecedented number of public rallies across the state.
