NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Police are investigating an armed robbery at a North Haven gas station.

According to police, at 5:30 a.m., four people stormed into the Citgo Gas Station on Washington Avenue armed with a firearm.

One of the suspects brandished the weapon at a store employee, threatening him, while the other suspects attempted to access the cash register and safe behind the counter.

A struggle ensued, which led to a round being fired. The employee escaped unscathed, and two first responding officers arrested one 16-year-old of Hartford, the individual responsible for discharging the firearm. However, the remaining three suspects managed to evade capture and fled the scene.

Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or possesses information regarding the whereabouts of the other suspects to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
