Police: Reading man arrested after allegedly shooting wife
READING, Ohio (WXIX) - A 29-year-old woman is hospitalized after her husband allegedly shot her early Tuesday morning.
The woman’s husband, Bryan Tyler, 35, was arrested and charged with one count of felonious assault, one count of domestic violence, and one count of using weapons while intoxicated.
According to Reading Police Det. Eric Leininger, the shooting happened at approximately 12:59 a.m. in the 1000 block of Thurnridge Drive.
Reading EMS and police found the victim with a gunshot wound to the chest and performed life-saving measures on her. She was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center where she is described as “stable.”
Det. Leininger says Tyler was half-present at the time of the shooting.
After further investigation, police discovered that Tyler and his wife were verbally fighting, which eventually turned physical, Leininger explained.
The woman later went to her bedroom and sat on the bed with Tyler following her. Leininger says that is when the husband pulled out a handgun and fired one round, striking his wife in the chest.
Tyler is currently being housed in the Hamilton County Justice Center.
