Hundreds of Iowa motorcyclists gathered Saturday for a memorial ride in honor of a biker who died two weeks ago.
Spencer Rush loved playing sports and video games, but most of all, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle.
However, it was on his bike that everything changed.
Rush died after colliding with a vehicle in Des Moines on March 30.
Police say it happened on E 13th Street and East Grand Avenue near the Statehouse.
When they heard what happened, his closest friends were heartbroken.
"It kind of made me feel sick to my stomach," Cameron Lake said.
"It was definitely a sad morning for everyone in the friend group," Caleb Petersen said.
They knew they needed to do something to make sure Spencer was remembered.
So they did it the only way they knew how — organizing a memorial ride in his honor.
Everyone custom T-shirts with "A life lived to the fullest" printed on the front.
And the turnout was even more impressive.
More than 200 bikers came out for the about two-hour ride ending at Spencer's crash site.
It was a sight that made Rush's sister, Amanda McGregor, smile for a moment.
"It's really nice to see everyone coming together for him. I just wish he was here," she said.
A GoFundMe has been set up to support Rush's family.
