JACKSON, Miss. (WDAM) - A man from the Pearl River community of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians pleaded guilty in federal court Thursday to knowingly engaging in a sexual act with a member of his family.

Ronnie Reed Sr., 52, is scheduled to be sentenced on July 25 and faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.

According to court documents, Reed had a sexual relationship with a family member in the Pearl River Community of the Choctaw Indian Reservation in July 2021,

Reed was indicted by a federal grand jury in October 2023.

The Choctaw Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation investigated the case.

United States Attorney Todd Gee and FBI Special Agent in Charge Robert Eikhoff made Thursday’s announcement.
