San Antonio was disrupted by the sound of gunfire late Monday, as a man ended up hospitalized with a bullet wound to his buttocks following an altercation, authorities reported. According to FOX San Antonio, the incident occurred at approximately 10:30 PM in the 5300 block of Hillburn Drive, near Old Pearsall Road on the Southwest Side of San Antonio.

SAPD responded to the call of a shooting and found the victim, a man in his 30s, who had fled to seek aid after the shooting, his wound a literal embodiment of the argument turned violent. The confrontation between two men escalated until one pulled the trigger and the other was struck, setting off the chain reaction of flight and pain, according to KENS 5.

Authorities have not yet made any arrests in connection with the shooting, but it is believed that the two men were acquainted prior to the incident, suggesting that this was not a random act of violence. At present, the investigation continues as detectives piece together witness testimonies and look for any available surveillance footage.

The man who was shot sought out help on Old Pearsall Road and is now in stable condition at a local hospital, no other injuries were reported at the scene of the shooting.
