Rockford, Ill. (WTVO) — Earth Day is next week but for actor and eco-activist Heather Morris, every day is Earth Day. She’s chatting with us to share some of the things she uses to help care for the Earth.

Heather starts off with something everyone can do which is washing our clothes in cold water. Tide helps out with this because it is specifically made to clean in cold water. Washing in cold water is also a great way to save money. Tide set a goal to turn 75% of loads to cold by the year 2030. You can learn more at tide.com.

Heather also tells us that 38% of food in the US goes unsold a lot of it has to do with grocery standard. She tells us that Misfits Market helps with this by making shopping sustainable and more affordable. Misfits Market is an online grocery store, and they make it easy to have quality produce sent straight to your door. You can check out Misfits Market at misfitsmarket.com.

Another great way to help the Earth and save money, Heather recommends using Savant Power. Savant Power System allows you to store solar energy or energy from your utility company and it turns it into clean power. Some users can even experience hundreds of dollars in savings on their bill. Finally, to help make traveling greener, Heather says we should use Travelodge. Travelodge is all about sustainability and more than 75% of their hotels are less than an hour drive from a national park. They are also running an Earth Day deal where you can get 20% off when staying two nights or more.
