Meet the Chefs event returns benefiting Casa de Amparo
The 27th Annual Meet the Chefs event will be held Sunday, April 28 at the Hilton Del Mar to benefit Casa de Amparo and its mission to treat and prevent child abuse and neglect. A VIP reception will be held from 1:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m. and Chef’s Tasting will be held from 2:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m.
The event offers guests unlimited samples of signature tastings crafted by chefs from over a dozen premier and local restaurants. An extensive selection of complimentary wine, beer, and champagne will also be served.

The Country Friends Spring Luncheon benefit to be held April 24

Pacific Building Group Charity Golf Tournament to be held in RSF

Feeding San Diego, a leading hunger-relief and food rescue organization, will be the beneficiary of a new charitable golf tournament happening this spring in Rancho Santa Fe, according to a news release.
The Pacific Building Group Charity Golf Tournament will take place on Monday, May 6, at The Crosby Club at Rancho Santa Fe and will include a day of exclusive golf, delicious food and drinks, and an auction and raffle—all to raise funds for the nonprofit organization’s critical hunger-relief and food rescue programs that provide more than 35 million meals across San Diego County every year.

The Beach and Country Guild and United Cerebral Palsy of San Diego will co-host “Livin’ to the Maxx -80s Party” Tuesday, May 7 from 6 p.m.-10 p.m. at the Belly Up in Solana Beach. Rock out and flash back to the ‘80s with live entertainment from BETAMAXX.

Free Spring Choral Concert at the Village Church
The original version of a Handel concerto composed some 300 years ago will make its San Diego debut with the Village Church Community Chorale on Sunday, April 14 at 7 p.m. The annual Spring Choral Concert will feature Handel’s Concerto for Organ in F Major with a choral finale featuring the 80+ voices of the Chorale, several soloists, organist Suzanne Shick, and members of the San Diego and Pacific Symphony Orchestras under the direction of Juan Carlos Acosta, director of worship at the Village Church. The free concert will also present a rare performance of Mozart’s complete mass setting “Missa Solemnis” and his vocal composition “Ave Verum Corpus.”
The concert will be held in the Village Church sanctuary at 6225 Paseo Delicias in Rancho Santa Fe. A freewill offering will be collected.

La Jolla Concours d’Elegance
With a vehicle known for one of Hollywood’s most iconic movie franchises and cars that are among only a few of their kind on the planet, the 2024 La Jolla Concours d’Elegance will put a focus on “really rare cars” during its three-day showcase April 19-21.
The car show will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 21, at Scripps Park.
In addition, a VIP party will be held in Scripps Park from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, April 19, featuring live music, cocktails, gourmet food from 20 San Diego-area restaurants and a live auction.
On Saturday, April 20, the La Jolla Concours Tour d’Elegance will start at 7 a.m. and will include visits to private car collections and a driving tour of San Diego, with lunch at a private venue.

Batiquitos Lagoon Family walk

Batiquitos Lagoon will be holding a docent-led walk on April 20 at 10 a.m. that will introduce people to some of the key native plant species and plant communities of the lagoon environment. Participants may also spot a few birds and reptiles. This free family walk is beginner-level that is suitable for children. It is a short walk, the total distance is less than one mile with a short uphill section. Registration is required. Meet at the Nature Center, 7380 Gabbiano Lane, Carlsbad. Kids Day at The Flower Fields postponed

The Kids Day at The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch is rescheduled to May 5 because of bad weather on the original date in March. The event features a stunt show by the BMX Freestyle Team from 1 to 3 p.m. The General Yo Competition Team of competitive yo-yo masters will demonstrate tricks from noon to 2 p.m. There will also be bubble making, face painting and other activities. The Flower Fields at 5704 Paseo Del Norte are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily through Mother’s Day. The venue features 55 acres of colorful giant tecolote ranunculus along with family-oriented activities and special events. Additional attractions include a Sweet Pea Maze, a butterfly garden, Santa’s Playground, an American Flag of flowers and a Mediterranean Garden. Spring Art & Wine Walk

A Spring Art & Wine Walk is from 3 to 6 p.m. April 13 at The Forum Carlsbad, an outdoor shopping center at 1923 Calle Barcelona. The free event features live acoustic music by Christian Jules Taylor, an art exhibit including paintings, ceramics and photography, and custom charcuterie cones from Mirabelle Charcuterie along with a Wine Garden near Yeti for a wine tasting presented by Jimbo’s with wines from around the world and locally brewed nonalcoholic beer.
