TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – The Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum captured a wild fox that tested positive for rabies.
The Desert Museum announced Saturday morning that the fox was captured on Thursday, just five miles from where a fox previously attacked hikers.
Earlier this month, a rabid fox had been reported after it attacked 3 people in separate incidents at Saguaro National Park West.
More than 7 animal attacks have taken place since November, with 4 of those animals testing positive for rabies.
AZGFD says if you spot or suspect a wild animal has rabies, you should immediately leave the area and call them at 623-236-7201.
