Canadian pop rockers MONOWHALES have decided to call it a day, announcing that they have broken up.
The Toronto trio of singer Sally Shaar, guitarist Zack Zanardo and drummer Jordan Circosta announced the news in a joint statement, saying that they have "each evolved, both creatively and personally."
The statement continues, "As we each followed our own paths, we've reached a point where we no longer feel we can do justice to the vision of MONOWHALES we set out with. We've never been happy with providing the world with anything less than our best, and feel now is the right time to put this down."
Beyond that, they haven't offered any details about why they are no longer able to fulfill their vision for MONOWHALES. They hint they "each have exciting endeavours ahead, and we can't wait to share them with you."
The band had a few summer shows scheduled, including Ontario's Springtide Music Festival, New Brunsick's Area 506 Festival, and an opening date on Tokyo Police Club's farewell tour. These have all been cancelled.

MONOWHALES officially formed in 2017 and scored a hit with 2019's "RWLYD (Really Wanna Let You Down)." They released the EP Who's There to Hear Me Out? earlier this year. They were previously known as Ginger Ale and the Monowhales.
