Big Ten program becomes favorite to land Tre Donaldson

Tre Donaldson was a valuable bench piece for the Auburn Tigers by providing 4.7 points and 2.3 assists over the last two seasons. Now, Donaldson will pursue more minutes by joining a new program by way of the transfer portal.

Which program could that be? One writer from 247Sports believes that Donaldson could be a great fit for a Big Ten program. 247Sports basketball analyst Travis Branham has logged a crystal ball prediction for Donaldson in favor of Michigan. Out of Auburn’s three transfer portal departures, Donaldson is the first to receive a prediction from 247Sports.

Donaldson is one of three guards to depart from Auburn’s program this offseason. KD Johnson was the first to enter, with Aden Holloway being the most recent. According to a report by Jamie Shaw of On3, there are two schools of note regarding Holloway’s next destination, one of those being Michigan.

Things have been somewhat quiet with Aden Holloway’s recruitment since he entered the transfer portal earlier this week. Holloway, a 6-foot-1 guard, earned first-team SEC All-Freshman honors. He averaged 7.3 points and 2.7 assists while shooting 30.2 percent from three. Two programs multiple sources have mentioned to me are Michigan and Baylor. Holloway’s sister Mila, a 2024 guard, is committed to Michigan. Continue to monitor the information as it comes out.

Auburn has worked to improve its guard situation by adding former Furman star JP Pegues from the transfer portal. Bruce Pearl’s squad will also add true freshmen Tahaad Pettiford and Jakhi Howard to its rotation.
