The musician Gerry Cinnamon’s fortune has risen to more than £4.5 million in the past year, figures show.

The singer-songwriter has built a massive following as he forges his way in the music industry without the backing of any major record label.

Accounts filed for his companies show his earnings are rising only a few years after he gave up working as a scaffolder and plumber.

His firm, GC Music, made more than £1.6 million last year and has almost £2.7 million in the bank.

His second company, Little Runaway Records, which handles sales of his recordings, is valued at more than £1.3 million and a third firm, called Little Runaway Music, is worth £625,000.
