Classic rockers Grand Funk Railroad and Foghat fill a double bill at Soaring Eagle Casino at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 13.

Grand Funk Railroad came out of Flint in 1969 and produced hits such as “We’re an American Band” and “Some Kind of Wonderful.”  This year, the band is touring with original members Don Brewer and Mel Schacher, along with Max Carl from 38 Special; Bruce Kulick, who spent a dozen years with Kiss; and Tim Cashion, who’s worked with Bob Seger and Robert Palmer.

Foghat, which has been around for more than 50 years, is led by founding drummer Roger Earl and guitarist Bryan Bassett. The band’s breakout songs have included “Fool for the City” and its signature hit, “Slow Ride.”

Both bands have influenced other groups with their hard-driving sounds and soul-filled vocals.

Tickets start at $39.

Soaring Eagle Casino is located at 6800 Soaring Eagle Blvd., Mt. Pleasant.
