Two former Saint Francis football players will no longer stand trial on accusations that they sexually assaulted a woman back in 2021.

Marcel Mami and Daunte White will be entering the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program, also known as ARD.

According to Cambria County District Attorney Greg Neugebauer, the two defendants will have to go through the program for the next year. He said if they complete the program and avoid any criminal activity, the charges can be expunged.

“This is a program largely reserved for people who get first time offense DUIs or retail thefts where essentially you're on unsupervised probation for a period of a year which essentially means your name is in a database,” defense attorney for Mami, Paul Lang, said. “After you stay out of trouble for a year, which our clients have done their entire lives, the charges get dismissed.”

Mami was charged with rape while White was charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse.

The alleged victim claims that in February of 2021, she was at a party at a Loretto Borough home where Mami reportedly led her to the basement and he and White allegedly performed sexual acts.

Neugebauer said the alleged victim claims she "desired to move on from the incident,” but representatives of Mami and White maintain that the two are innocent.

“This is not an admission of guilt. It is not a finding of guilt. It is a dismissal of the charges” Lang said. “These men have always been innocent, and it was effectively proven with their admission, and because of that they were placed in this program.”

Officials at Saint Francis said the two have not been enrolled at the university since 2022.
