Ray J

Singer/songwriter Ray J is wading into the drama swirling around his pal Sean “Diddy” Combs, who has recently been accused of sex trafficking, sexual abuse, rape and additional criminal activity.

Speaking to TMZ Hip Hop, Ray J admitted that he’s not surprised Combs’ more famous friends have kept quiet amid the controversy. They’re trying to process, he said, rather than immediately jump to Diddy’s defense or pick a side.

“I think a lot of people are just trying to understand it,” Ray J said. “What is, what’s not. There’s still a big question mark.”

The comment comes just days after DJ and record producer Stevie J, a Diddy ally, shared a video on Instagram showing off just how many celebrities party with the 54-year-old music mogul. It features a highlight reel of Combs’ 50th birthday in Beverly Hills back in 2019.

The star-studded guest list included the likes of Kobe Bryant, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, Queen Latifah, Kevin Hart and even Kim Kardashian.

“This is what a real Diddy Party looks like,” Stevie J wrote in the caption.

In a series of lawsuits filed over the past six months, Combs has been accused of throwing secret sex bacchanals he called “freak-offs,” which he allegedly often filmed.

One of his accusers, ex-girlfriend R&B singer Cassie, claimed Diddy once beat her at one such party. At the same event, the rapper also allegedly dangled a different woman over the ledge of a 17th-story balcony.

Cassie, whose real name is Cassandra Ventura, further accused him of forcing her to have sex with other men and raping her at her home in 2018.

She filed her lawsuit in Manhattan back in November.

Diddy settled that suit a day later.
