Bill Medley hasn’t lost that lovin’ feelin’ for singing the Righteous Brothers hits. But at 83, and with 64 years of the group behind him, he’s saying farewell — without regret.

“It’s mainly traveling,” explains Medley, who’s in the midst of a farewell tour with Bucky Heard, who’s been with Medley since he resumed the Righteous Brothers in 2016, 13 years after his original partner, Bobby Hatfield, died. “I actually love going to all the different areas and performing, of course. But the traveling’s become so tough now. …

“I think the audiences understand, but they’re kind of bummed out. They’re pretty sweet; they just say: ‘Geez, I wish you wouldn’t stop. We love coming to your shows,’ which is so nice to hear.”

The Righteous Brothers certainly gave those fans plenty to come for. The group — inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003 and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame two years later — is best known for its two enduring singles, the Phil Spector-produced “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’” in 1964 and its version of “Unchained Melody” in 1965. There were other hits — 23 total on the Billboard Hot 100 — and Medley had his own chart-topping success with “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life,” a duet with Jennifer Warnes from the film “Dirty Dancing.”

Medley — who wrote the Righteous Brothers’ first single, “Little Latin Lupe Lu” (also a hit for Mitch Ryder & the Detroit Wheels) — continues to record and recently finished a country album in Nashville, which will feature several duets. He doesn’t rule out continuing to perform on occasion after the touring is done, but with four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Medley is content with the legacy he’s leaving.

“The one cool thing about retiring is that I have tried everything, and I’ve done everything,” he says. “Bobby and I were really blessed. We played around the world and worked with symphony orchestras and … everything you can imagine. If somebody said, ‘If you could do anything you want that you haven’t done …,’ there’s nothing. I’m very satisfied.”

The Righteous Brothers perform at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 13 at Andiamo Celebrity Showroom, 7096 E. 14 Mile Road, Warren. 586-268-3200 or andiamoshowroom.com.
