‘Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’ bringing farewell tour to NE Kansas

MAYETA (KSNT) – A classic rock and country band is due to appear in Mayetta for a live performance this summer.

Prairie Band Casino & Resort announced on social media the ‘Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’ will be performing on Thursday, July 11 as part of its ‘All The Good Times: The Farewell Tour.’ Tickets are set to go on sale starting at noon on Thursday, April 11.

The band can trace its history back to the mid-1960’s with its six original band members. The group has produced hits like “Fishin’ in the Dark,” “Baby’s Got a Hold on Me,” “Maybe Baby,” and “Mr. Bojangles,” according to the band’s website.

The band’s current members include original players Jeff Hanna and Jimmie Fadden along with Bob Carpenter, Jaime Hanna, Ross Holmes and Jim Photoglo. You can follow the band’s progress by checking them out on Facebook.
