CINCINNATI − Mother Nature has not been kind to the Milwaukee Brewers so far in 2024.

For the second time already, they have had a game rained out − this time what was scheduled to be a 12:10 p.m. series finale against the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park on Thursday.

Milwaukee had its season opener against the New York Mets at Citi Field postponed as well, although the teams were able to play it a couple of days later thanks to a built-in bad weather day.

It won't be so easy for the Brewers and the Reds.

Now, the two teams will instead play a split doubleheader on Aug. 30 in Cincinnati. Game 1 (the rescheduled game) will begin at 11:40 a.m. and Game 2 (the original game) will begin at 5:40 p.m.

As a result of the postponement, the Brewers will push their starting pitchers back by a day, meaning Freddy Peralta will now start Friday's game in Baltimore, DL Hall will start Saturday and Colin Rea will start Sunday.

Milwaukee ended up taking two of three games in Cincinnati and now will face a stiff challenge in Baltimore against an Orioles team that's expected to be among the best in baseball.

There will also be multiple storylines to watch, including Hall pitching against his former team Saturday, Corbin Burnes pitching against his former team Sunday and the coming together of the two top prospects in all of baseball in Milwaukee's Jackson Chourio and Baltimore's Jackson Holliday.
