KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Two people were taken into custody Monday night following a stolen vehicle pursuit that ended in the Santa Fe neighborhood.

The Kansas City, Missouri Police Department said officers saw a vehicle at 8:10 p.m. that had been reported stolen earlier in the day in Independence in an armed carjacking.

KCPD said they had reason to believe the car was also possibly used in two additional armed robberies in East Kansas City.

When officers attempted to stop the vehicle it immediately fled. Because the vehicle had been involved in multiple violent crimes and presented an imminent danger to the safety of the public, KCPD said a pursuit was authorized.

The pursuit concluded at 8:16 p.m. with two people taken into custody. KCPD said there were no injuries reported and the investigation into the robberies is ongoing.
