Some parents in an Iowa school district are demanding that the entire board resign.Parents and teachers say the previous superintendent of Pekin Schools, Derek Philips, was pushed out after he suspended the child of a school board member for calling another student a racial slur.Parents voiced their frustration at a school board meeting Monday. "The entire school board needs to go," one parent said. "I understand there are some that are new to the school board, but it's clear that they are easily influenced and will not stick up for what's right." Philips is on paid administrative leave through June. His contract was supposed to expire in 2026. He tells KCCI he'll be paid through the end of this calendar year.
