STATEN ISLAND, N.Y — Authorities allege that a 46-year-old man was caught with drugs and a knife by police in Arden Heights.

Peter Farace of Dinsmore Street in Bulls Head was driving a black, 2014 Cadillac on April 4 shortly before 10:30 p.m. in the vicinity of Forest Green and Arden Avenue, according to the criminal complaint and police.

Officers recovered about 50 white pills of the opioid oxycodone and a knife with a blade at least four inches long in a compartment on the driver’s door, the complaint alleges.

Farace, who has several prior narcotics-related arrests, had over $900 in cash on his person when he was apprehended, according to a source with knowledge of the investigation.

Officers checked state Department of Motor Vehicle records and determined that the defendant’s license was revoked two times, “for among other things, operating a vehicle without car insurance,” the complaint alleges.

Farace was unable to produce a valid driver’s license when requested, police said.

The defendant has been charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, criminal possession of controlled substance, violations of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and driving without a valid driver’s license and an administrative code violation of possession of knives or instruments with a blade four inches or more.

Farace has pleaded not guilty to all charges, has been released on his own recognizance and is due back in Criminal Court on May 13, according to public records.

An attorney for the defendant did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
