Manchester United's winless run in the Premier League was extended to four matches after they drew 2-2 with Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday evening.

After falling behind to Dominic Solanke's opener after 16 minutes, United got themselves back on level terms just past the half-hour mark when Bruno Fernandes rifled the ball home from close range. Bournemouth, however, restored their lead five minutes later through Justin Kluivert.

Despite being second best for long spells, United got themselves level for a second time with 65 minutes on the clock, again via Fernandes. The Portuguese international dispatched a penalty after a Kobbie Mainoo shot hit an arm inside the box.

There was late drama, though, as Bournemouth thought they had been awarded a penalty of their own late on when Ryan Christie was tripped. However, VAR deemed that Willy Kambwala had caught him outside the box.

Despite earning a point, United have now won just one of their last seven Premier League games, leaving them 10 points behind Aston Villa in fourth and Tottenham Hotspur in fifth.

REPORT: Fernandes uses angry exchange with Onana and Ten Hag to help United at Bournemouth

United formed a huddle when they re-emerged for the second half. They are still a muddle.

"You're s**t and you know you are," the Bournemouth denizens informed them. There was no direct response and the defiant atmosphere in the away end suggested those from Manchester are well aware of that status.

The United supporters are offering support that their team does not merit. They sang non-stop in the sunshine and at least avoided another defeat south of the M6. The players were greeted with a chorus of "United, United, United" by the away section at the contest's conclusion.

Yet this was another nail in their league coffin. United did not succumb to a Premier League-era record 13th defeat of the season but that feels a matter of time with six matches remaining. They have won one of their past seven league games.

United continue to get peppered

United conceded 20 shots this evening, in comparison to the eight they registered themselves.

They have now faced over 100 since the international break.

United player ratings as Fernandes impresses

Andre Onana

Beaten far too easily at his near post by Justin Kluivert but denied the Dutchman shortly before half-time with what proved to be a vital stop. 5

Diogo Dalot

His worst performance for a while and he failed to pick up Kluivert when he received the ball to score. Had a more serene second half. 5

Willy Kambwala

Lost his first two early duels with Dominic Solanke and was sufficiently spooked that he lost his balance when the striker scored. Almost conceded a late penalty. 4

90+5' - BOU 2-2 MUN - Bournemouth get a penalty!

Can you believe this? Bournemouth have a penalty deep into added time, but it's being checked.

86' - BOU 2-2 MUN - Christie goes down inside the box

Christie dances through the United defence and goes down, thinking he has won a penalty. Instead, he is booked for simulation. Cook is also booked for protesting about the decision.

85' - BOU 2-2 MUN - Aarons shoots wide

Space opens up for Aarons to have a crack at goal for the home side, but he drags his effort horribly wide. Bournemouth, however, look the side far more likely to bag a winner.

78' - BOU 2-2 MUN - United change

OFF: Mainoo

ON: Mount

76' - BOU 2-2 MUN - Bournemouth change

OFF: Kluivert

ON: Unal

72' - BOU 2-2 MUN - Bournemouth going up the gears again

Despite being pegged back for a second time, Bournemouth's confidence hasn't been knocked. They are doing a lot of the probing again. Faivre, fresh from the bench, is keen to get involved and make his mark.

70' - BOU 2-2 MUN - Double Bournemouth change

OFF: Smith and Ouattara

ON: Aarons and Faivre

65' - BOU 2-2 MUN - GOAL UNITED! 2-2 (FERNANDES)

United are back on terms once again! Fernandes dispatches the penalty with a sense of calm, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.

Again, out of nowhere, United are level. Game on!

63' - BOU 2-1 MUN - United awarded a penalty!

United are awarded a penalty for handball inside the box against Smith. His arm moved towards the ball and the referee didn't hesitate. Mainoo's shot deflected off one Bournemouth player and onto another.

60' - BOU 2-1 MUN - An hour on the clock

An hour gone at the Vitality Stadium and still Bournemouth lead. United have not offered any kind of threat since the restart and look like a team bereft of ideas.

58' - BOU 2-1 MUN - Ten Hag instructing Amad

Ten Hag is literally having to tell Amad what to do. The message has not got through so far.

Amad has always come on with United either losing or drawing but he has been used so sparingly he is not in sync with teammates. Then again, who is?

56' - BOU 2-1 MUN - Christie gets the home crowd to its feet

The Bournemouth fans are enjoying this. They have just risen to their feet again to cheer a superb interception from Christie. He put the ball out into touch, robbing it off the toes of Fernandes, who wanted to spring a break down the left.

54' - BOU 2-1 MUN - United probing

United are enjoying more of the ball at the start of this second half but they are doing little to test Bournemouth's backline as of yet. Ten Hag is continuing to bark out orders from the bench.

49' - BOU 2-1 MUN - Kerkez making a nuisance of himself

Bournemouth left-back Kerkez, who hit the bar in the first half, is giving Dalot a lot to think about down the home side's left side.

He won them a free-kick in a positive position a few moments ago, leading to Bournemouth's players and fans appealing for a penalty for handball. The referee wasn't interested, though.

46' - BOU 2-1 MUN - We're under way for the second half

We're back under way once again at the Vitality Stadium.

Ten Hag has made a change for United, introducing Amad, who has replaced Garnacho.

HALF-TIME: BOU 2-1 MUN - United trail at the break

That's the whistle for the interval. United are 2-1 down and are very lucky the damage is not more.

Bournemouth took the lead through Solanke after 16 minutes but were pegged back when Fernandes levelled things up just past the half-hour mark. Kluivert then restored the home side's lead five minutes later.

45+4' - BOU 2-1 MUN - Big save Onana

What a chance for Bournemouth to increase their lead. A ball is swung into the box and Kluivert connects with it first time, gets his shot on target, but is somehow denied by Onana. That is a huge save.

45' - BOU 2-1 MUN - Added time

The fourth official has indictated there will be a minimum of NINE added minutes at the end of this first half.

Dominic Solanke of AFC Bournemouth scores his team's first goal against Manchester United at Vitality Stadium.

44' - BOU 2-1 MUN - United have been dross

United have been as bad as their supporters have been good. They are still singing in the sunshine and gallows humour is advisable amid this dross. This has been United's worst half since, well last week against Liverpool.

43' - BOU 2-1 MUN - Bournemouth should have a third

United are being torn apart and should be 3-1 down by now. A cross comes in from the right and finds Kerkez, who rises to hit the bar and then rises again to head the rebound over.

United need the half-time break.

39' - BOU 2-1 MUN - The Cherries make a change

Bournemouth are forced into an early, unwanted change. Sinisterra hobbles off and is replaced by Kelly.

36' - BOU 2-1 MUN - United have been so poor again

This United team is risible. Bournemouth fans are singing, "You're s**t and you know you are" and they are right, whatever the final score ends up.

United have been unsurprisingly chaotic and the build-up to that goal should be anathema to Ten Hag. United are gifting Bournemouth an extraordinary amount of space and they are not remotely compact.
