Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu has teased that she's pursuing a project away from the world of reality TV at the moment following her recent appearances on two popular shows.

The reality TV star, now 29, rose to fame in the UK on Love Island back in 2019 and won the ITV2 show with her now ex Davide Sanclimenti. Ekin-Su has since appeared on the Traitors US and more recently on Celebrity Big Brother, having been a housemate on ITV's revival earlier this year.

She has however now teased that she's preparing for her return to acting. Ekin-Su had enjoyed an acting career in Turkey prior to her stint in the Love Island villa, having appeared in the soap opera Kuzey Yıldızı İlk Aşk in 2020.

According to IMDB, the show ran from 2019 until 2021. Ekin-Su is credited as having played the recurring character Isil in 7 episodes of the second series and she later spoke about the role whilst in the Big Brother house just last month.

Ekin-Su took to her Instagram Story on Saturday to share some updates with her followers on the platform, which included hinting that she's preparing for a new acting role. At one point, she uploaded a photo that showed various objects on a table, which appeared to include a script.

Pages of what appeared to be a script for an acting project were seen on the table alongside a chocolate pudding and a notebook. The script included lines for a character called Teddi and there were also handwritten notes about the character in the notebook that was beside it. Ekin-Su however didn't provide any details about the project or the role, having covered much of the script with an emoji.

She has previously spoken about wanting to distance herself from Love Island in particular and have more acting roles. Discussing her ambitions, she told Women's Health UK last year: "Acting in films; playing roles and quirky characters; something that would make you think, 'Oh, Ekin is not this,' but then I smash it…" Mentioning her plans to find an acting agency at the time, she added: "Putting myself out, you know, try to distance myself as much as I can from the Love Island scene and, yeah, be my own person."

The new post comes just weeks after Ekin-Su's stint on Celebrity Big Brother. She had been a housemate on the new series of the show, which was won by David Potts last month. She had been the fourth housemate evicted on it.

The experience proved controversial and Ekin-Su reflected in a post that she shared last week. She wrote: "Just a little message to say hi. Thank you once more for all your kindness. Took some time off to reflect, recharge and restore which I'm still very much doing but I'll need to be back online for work purposes especially. Thanks to the brands who I work with who have respected my boundaries and shown compassion and love during the past year."

"Haven't felt myself for a long time, and I've realised I had kind of lost myself and for a while didn't know who I was beyond being defined by ex relationships or TV shows, and that needs to change! I am so excited for all the growth and full healing. CBB was the final lightbulb moment to make me realise what needs to be done," she continued in the post.

Ekin-Su concluded by saying last week that she was "embracing the fresh start". She said: "Embracing the fresh start to a new month and new era. Wishing everyone an April full of possibilities. I am so grateful for each one of you."
