LSP: Man killed in 2-vehicle crash in Tangipahoa Parish

HAMMOND, La. (WAFB) - A two-vehicle crash in Tangipahoa Parish left a man dead Monday night April 15, troopers said.

According to Louisiana State Police, Eric Cook, 45, of Hammond, was killed.

The crash happened shortly after 5:15 p.m. on U.S. Highway 190 at South Baptist Road in Tangipahoa Parish.

An initial investigation revealed that the crash happened as Cook was driving north on South Baptist Road in a Toyota Carolla, and a Honda CRV was headed east on U.S. Highway 190, troopers said. They added that the driver of the Honda ran a red light and crashed into Cook’s vehicle.

Troopers said that Cook was rushed to a hospital and later died from his injuries. The driver of the Honda CRV suffered minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
