Man arrested after being accused of assaulting elderly woman
MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — A man was arrested after being accused of assaulting an elderly woman in Morgan County.
According to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), deputies responded to a home in the 12000 block of Hwy 67 in Joppa in reference to a domestic assault on Sunday.
Upon arrival, an elderly woman was transported to Cullman Hospital for treatment of a wound from an assault. On Monday, investigators identified the suspect as 50-year-old Jammie Dewayne Thompson, of Joppa.
Morgan County Sheriff’s Office arrests 21-year-old man on rape, incest charges
According to MCSO, warrants for 2nd-degree domestic violence and 2nd-degree elder abuse were obtained for Thompson.
Thompson was found and arrested for the following:
Elder Abuse 2nd Degree
Domestic Violence 2nd Degree / Burglary 3rd Degree
FTA – Criminal Trespass
MCSO says that Thompson was booked into the Morgan County Jail on a $20,494.20 bond.
