Police search for road-rage shooting suspect in Overland Park

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (KCTV) - A road rage incident in Overland Park Tuesday morning is under investigation.

Police said they received a report of a road rage incident on westbound I-435 near U.S. 69 Highway shortly before 6 a.m. Tuesday.

The victim told police he was traveling on westbound I-435 approaching 69 Highway in the inside lane, when he approached a vehicle in the same lane driving at a slower pace.

According to the victim, he moved over a lane and began to pass the vehicle when during the passing the suspect vehicle swerved into the victim’s vehicle and made contact.

As the victim driver began to pull to the shoulder of the highway, its driver side rear window shattered. Later, police said a bullet hole was located in the driver side headrest.

The driver was not injured in this incident, OPPD said. The suspect vehicle was described as a white, four-door sedan.
