One couldn't have expected a more appropriate finish to the series between the Humboldt Broncos and the Melfort Mustangs than a board to board, all-out thrilling effort that headed into overtime.

For the Humboldt Broncos, it was not a be a victorious wrap to the hard-fought series as the Mustang's Ryan Duguay potted a power play goal to give them the win.

It was another come from behind effort in the first and second for the Broncos who were down 2-0 in the early going. Spencer Bell caught a pass from Cage Newans and an assist from Travis Bryson in the first period  to narrow the gap.

Connor Thue tied it up a little past the halfway mark of the second. Then Bell exhibited patience and incredible puck control skills to put the Broncos up 3-2 going into the third.

The final regulation period was a back and forth push by both teams. Melfort's Chase Friedt-Mohr continued to be a threat tying it up, but Jacob Strizzi put a power play goal past Melfort's James Venne to take one more lead. With less than two minutes left, Aidyn Hutchinson tied it once more, paving the way for the Mustang's overtime win.

So, they Broncos bow out of an incredibly hard-fought series and season having left it all on the ice. The Mustangs face off against the Flin Flon Bombers in the final round for the Canterra Seeds Cup.
